Have you always loved the looseness, vibrancy, and light of impressionist painting? Now is your chance to “loosen up” and learn to paint expressively as we explore painting techniques inspired by the impressionist movement. As we study the work of Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, and more we will try our hand at both landscape and still life painting that capture the light and movement of the moment! From painting with our hands, to using brushes and palette knives in new ways, this class will open your eyes to a new way of painting. Our final class will be a “plein air” outdoor painting session! Join me for a four week series as we learn about the beautiful process of marbleizing paper, then use our creations to rip, cut and paste our way to beautiful collage works of art! Learn about the Italian roots of marbleized paper making along with collage techniques. Whether you are a returning collage fan or this is your first try, this class is for you as we move from the basics to new approaches in collage and mixed media art. Learn techniques in texture, relief, layering and depth as we create beautiful compositions with handmade papers, fibers, and unique surfaces from around the world.
